I will overwhelm 'legitimate boxer' Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer is set to fight the American YouTuber in an eight-round fight which will be broadcast live on the streaming platform.

British boxer Joshua stated he will "overwhelm entirely" the American and "overpower" the American as the two fighters came face-to-face to promote the upcoming heavyweight fight.

Ex two-time world title holder Joshua battles YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul - in what is, theoretically, a huge uneven pairing - at Miami's venue on 19 December.

Boxer's Mentality

"I'm going to damage his features and damage his physique. My goal is to show I'm the better fighter," the British boxer, 35, declared.

"I plan to overwhelm him. That's how fighters think.

"I will genuinely try to injure him. That's my goal."

Respectful Interaction

In spite of these statements, a relaxed Anthony Joshua and social media star Jake Paul - typically famous for his dramatics - shared friendly words and maintained decorum with each other.

Paul instead criticized ex Joshua opponent Francis Ngannou and labeled him "not serious" after the Cameroonian rejected a match opportunity.

Taking Aim at Fury

Joshua, at the same time, targeted British rival Fury - and refused a £1m bet 'Tyson Fury' says he will place on a Paul victory.

"[Paul] outshines Tyson Fury - he's actually sitting here," the boxer commented.

"I respect him for that."

Serious Fighter

In spite of declaring he will damage his opponent, Joshua chose not to talk badly about his rival's boxing ability.

"Jake is a credible opponent," he stated.

Jake Paul's Background

Paul - who originally gained popularity on the Disney Channel - has mostly fought MMA fighters or past-their-prime fighters since becoming pro.

He was defeated by British fighter Tommy Fury in 2023.

Financial Success

However, the novice continues to be one of the sport's biggest money-making draws, regularly earning substantial financial rewards.

Forecast and Belief

The 28 year old forecast a knockout win in the fourth or fifth round and asserted he would derail the highly-expected Fury-Joshua bout, which is reportedly under discussion for two years from now.

"It will be me versus Tyson Fury next year," Paul declared.

Size Difference

As Joshua and Paul engaged in the customary stare-down, with their physical disparity clearly visible, it emphasized just how improbable this complete situation is - and how astonishing it is that the fight is actually proceeding.
